Cutting Edge Events promises exciting activities for the attendees and the general public;

the NOLA Downtown Music and Arts Festival,

Hosted by the New Orleans Jazz Museum on the grounds of the Old U.S. Mint

August 24 & 25, 2018

will host

Popular Artists · Music Legends · Found Art · Classic Cars · Pop-up Shopping · Food Trucks · Social Volunteerism.

Cutting Edge Showcase events will be located in New Orleans Lower French Quarter, Frenchmen and St. Claude Streets entertainment districts from August 22 – 25.  Walk and enjoy music, food, art, and pop-up shopping in the oldest farmers market in the United States, the New Orleans French Market.

Organized and presented by the Music Business Institute, a New Orleans based non-profit organization whose sole mission is to enhance the career opportunities for musicians and entertainment professionals through dynamic education content and business networking.

Cutting Edge’s NOLA Downtown Music and Arts Festival will present important and emerging artists in various performing formats over four days in venues in and near New Orleans’ Downtown. The NOLA Downtown Music and Arts Festival is a showcase performance opportunity event featuring artists selected because they personify what the music and entertainment industry values, stage presence, songwriting, and musicianship. These artists are ready for new and renewed attention. In a city where music is a cultural asset, not an entertainment byline, we honor the past by presenting artists in an atmosphere where their artistry is more important than beer sales.

120+ artists/groups will be presented during the 26th Cutting Edge CE Conferences and Events.

The NOLA Downtown Music and Arts Festival will be headquartered on the Old U.S. Mint grounds where two stages will present music and films.

The activities will start, Friday, August 24 with Cutting Edge’s, “Swing Friday” Dance lessons and swing music series screening of music documentary films. Artists from across the U.S. we perform lead by New Orleans dance organization “NOLA Jitterbugs” dance teacher, bandleader Chance Bushman will instruct and perform with his band Ibervillianaires, and more.

The festival event will conclude, Saturday, August 25, with the Sam Price and the True Believers on the main stage lead by artists, Marc Stone, Northshore’s Bluesman Ricky T and the Rockets.

Throughout the weekend, they will be joined by local and visiting artists playing at local venues, Checkpoint Charlie’s, Sweet Lourraine’s Jazz Club, House of Blues Voodoo Gardens, Circle Bar, Fontaine Palace, Sidney’s Saloon, Allways Lounge, Siberia Club and InterContinental Hotel which is the conference hotel. Special, Saturday Night closing out the shows at Sweet Lorraine’s Jazz Club, Henry Turner, Jr. will celebrate the many great artists who participated in Chitlin’ Circuit Jam Sessions throughout the years. Artists are invited to join in the jam.

New Orleans Jazz Museum has quickly become a popular attraction and the grounds of the Old U.S. Mint has long been a festival ground where local festival events can take place-walking distance from Downtown hotels.
