Vernon Wesley Thomas, Esq.

Vernon “Wesley” Thomas is a licensed attorney whose primary practice areas include criminal defense, mass tort, personal injury, transactional, and entertainment law. A New Orleans native, Mr. Thomas is a 2009 graduate from the Southern University Law Center (SULC) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Upon graduation from SULC, Mr. Thomas worked in private practice for The Knightshead Law Firm before joining the East Baton Rouge Parish Public Defender’s Office in June of 2012. In the fall of 2012, Mr. Thomas was commissioned as a JAG Officer with the United States Army Reserve Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps and has completed several active duty mobilizations where he worked in the fields of Administrative Law, Legal Assistance, Civil Law, Operational Law, Contracts, and Military Justice. In 2017, Mr. Thomas began a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Tracey Flemings-Davillier, Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, ending in 2019. Mr. Thomas is currently a municipal prosecutor with the Orleans Parish City Attorney’s Office and maintains an active private practice in both the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas.

The eldest son of the late Vernon P. Thomas, Esq., Westley continues to follow in his father’s footsteps by continuing to build and thrive in the neighborhood law practice that his father began more than 30 years ago.

Mr. Thomas is licensed to practice in Louisiana and looks to continue the legacy of personal and competent legal representation that is his family’s legacy.
