Monica Corton
Monica Corton is the Founder & CEO of Go to Eleven Entertainment and the Go to Eleven Entertainment Music Royalty Fund. The company is a women led music publishing, artist services and branding/social media firm that focuses on signing, developing and licensing rights for songwriters, artists and producers with a focus on female creators. Prior to starting Monica Corton Consulting, Ms. Corton was the Senior Executive Vice President of Creative Affairs and Licensing at Next Decade Entertainment, Inc. Her responsibilities included all creative exploitation of Next Decade’s works, searching for and signing new talent, negotiating, drafting and licensing all works published and administered by the company as well as overseeing the distribution of royalties. Next Decade’s prestigious publishing clients included the music from the band Boston’s first album, Harry Belafonte, Sammy Hagar, the Estate of Milton Gabler, Gaucho/Sandbox Music (70s R&B catalog with lots of rap and hip hop sampled songs), the Double Ak-shun catalog (Millie Jackson), Eric Lindell (singer/songwriter from New Orleans), the Estate of Jay Gorney (“Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?”, “You’re My Thrill”), trance/dance writer Jan Johnston (hits with Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold), Lucy and Carly Simon, Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich (lyricist/composer of the Broadway musicals EVER AFTER, DEAR EDWINA and JUNIE B JONES), Noah Aronson (foremost Jewish music composer), BETTY (the band), Bob McGrath (from Sesame Street) and the Estate of Vic Mizzy (“Addams Family Theme” and “Green Acres Theme). In addition, she served as a music supervisor for Next Decade’s various film, television, and Broadway projects. Since joining Next Decade in 1991, she has been involved in the supervision of Golden Harvest Films', Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III and was the Assistant Music Supervisor for Warner Bros., Grumpier Old Men. In addition, she was Music Supervisor for Paramount Pictures, The Odd Couple II starring Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. She served as the Music Supervisor for the Broadway play One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest starring Gary Sinise and the Broadway play Freak starring John Leguizamo. Ms. Corton was a Music Consultant to Warner Bros. for the motion picture release of The Replacements starring Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman. She was the music supervisor for the CBS television motion picture entitled Gleason. Other credits include Music Supervisor for the Off-Broadway production, Bunny Bunny, a play based on the relationship of the playwright, Alan Zweibel, and Gilda Radner during their tenure as writer and performer on Saturday Night Live.

Prior to starting the company, she was the President of Monica Corton Consulting, LLC, a full-service music consulting company that advised on music publishing, copyright, licensing, master licensing, royalties and business strategy. From 1991 to 2018, Ms. Corton held several positions including as Senior Executive Vice President of Creative Affairs and Licensing at the music publishing company, Next Decade Entertainment. Her responsibilities included all creative exploitation of Next Decade’s works, searching for and signing new talent, negotiating, drafting and licensing all works published and administered by the company, as well as overseeing the collection and distribution of royalties. She is a graduate of the Hartt School of Music/University of Hartford, where she obtained two Bachelors in Music, one in flute performance and the other in music education.
